CRYO-S PAINLESS
Cryoanalgesia in thoracic surgery

The new year brings a lot of news that we would now like to share. The innovative CRYO-S® Painless process from the established European manufacturer Metrum Cryoflex is new to the RiVOLUTiON range. Thoracic surgery is still one of the most painful procedures for patients, during and especially after the operation. This is exactly where the CRYO-S® Painless procedure comes in: The use of cryoanalgesia, the targeted temporary freezing of intercostal nerve tracts, revolutionizes pain management in thoracic surgery. Freedom from pain, shorter hospital stays, reduction of painkillers (opiates) have a positive effect and the ERAS concept can be implemented perfectly.

 Satelliten LUNCH Symposium
Frankfurter Meeting 11. Nov 2022

In the symposium, Dr. med Barbara Jacobi (Head of Adipositaszentrum Saarbrücken) presented the PSTBS study with powered staplers from Fulbright company. Furthermore, advantages, opportunities and differences in the use of different stapling technologies were shown. Powered stapling, as an evolution of mechanical staplers, is already widespread in everyday surgery. Powered Stapling impresses with 90 % less effort and 100 % stability when released, including increased compression force. Nevertheless, many surgeons prefer the proven mechanical stapler based on experience and the best surgical results. Dr. Victor Diaconu from Romania, as a top expert in the field of bariatric surgery, spoke about surgical procedures using mechanical stapling technology. He is Head of Bariatric Surgery at Provita Hospital in Bukarest/Romania and performs approximately 1,000 bariatric surgeries per year.
